The Doors: Hoffman remix version of "Light My Fire"
昔々その昔、話題にしたことがあるAF SACD コンピレーション盤に収録の"Light My Fire"（もちろんthe Doorsの）について（５年前かよ！）。その時は、記事中で書いた通り御大自身は「リミックスではない、オリジナルだ」と言っておられたわけです。
しかーし、５年経った今、衝撃の告白が。
My Legends version of LIGHT MY FIRE is not a remaster, it is a remix from the four track original, done by me.
Legends SACD収録の"Light My Fire"はリマスターではない。４トラックのオリジナルテープからのリミックス。私がやった。ということで、やはりリミックスだった。これは当然ながら、40周年記念盤のリミックスとも違う、独自のミックスということになる。ただし、オリジナルミックスに極力近いミックスを心がけたということなので（まあスティーヴなら当然だが）、聞いてみて（オリジナルと比べて）何かが劇的に違うわけではない。聞き取れる差異については上記の５年前の記事にある通り。
４トラックマスターは、
Trk.1 ドラム、フェンダー・キーボード
Trk.2 ベース・オーヴァーダブ
Trk.3 ヴォーカル（combined）
Trk.4 ギター、オルガン
という構成だそう。

I don't see how that could possibly be interesting to anyone but sure:
Light My Fire, mixed straight to analog tape, no EQ, no compression, no nothing, just my little fingers on the four faders.
That's it. Added a tiny bit of upper mid and top (to sort of match the old stereo mix) during mastering for SACD..
Never added compression to the thing at all. Why mess it up?
マスタリングに関しては上記の通り。
"no compression"というのがそそられる。
ちなみに、というかご存知の通り、AF SACD The Best of The Doorsの"Take It As It Comes"もスティーヴのリミックス。
で、さらにちょっとした衝撃だったのは、実はその時（ファーストアルバムの）全曲をリミックスしていた（！）、という。まじか…。"The End"、聞きたい。ふつうにそう思う、やはり。
You're welcome. I actually remixed the entire album at the same time. Basically trying to smooth out the tape on the reels. Was stored badly for years. I figured I'd try it as the tape was slowly respooling..
